Allergen Information
At Pekko's Pizza, we want you to have the information you need to make an informed choice when ordering from us.
Our pizzas are handmade and freshly prepared to order. Allergen information is provided with each pizza on our online menu and is based on the ingredients used in that recipe.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please check the allergen information carefully before placing your order and tell us about your allergy when ordering.
The 14 Allergens
UK food businesses are required to provide information where any of the following 14 regulated allergens are used as ingredients:

Where one or more of these allergens is present as an ingredient in one of our pizzas or other menu items, we identify this in the allergen information shown with that item.
Our Kitchen & Cross-Contact
Pekko's is a small working pizza kitchen and our pizzas are prepared by hand in the same food preparation area.
We handle ingredients containing allergens, including wheat (gluten) and milk, and other allergens may also be present in ingredients used across our menu.
Although we follow food hygiene and allergen-management procedures and take care when preparing orders, we cannot completely eliminate the possibility of accidental cross-contact between ingredients.
For this reason, we cannot guarantee that any finished pizza or other food prepared in our kitchen will be completely free from traces of a particular allergen.
If You Have a Food Allergy
Please let us know about any allergy before placing or completing your order.
When ordering online, please provide details of your allergy 'Important notes' box present when selecting your Pizza. If you are unsure whether a particular pizza or ingredient is suitable for you, please contact us before ordering.
We will check the ingredient and allergen information available to us and let you know whether we believe we can safely accommodate your requirements.
If you have a severe or potentially life-threatening food allergy, please contact us before ordering.
Because our pizzas are prepared in a shared kitchen environment, there may be circumstances where we cannot safely accommodate a particular allergy. If we cannot prepare your order with an appropriate level of confidence, we will tell you.
Gluten & Wheat
Our standard pizza dough is made using wheat flour and contains gluten.
We do not currently offer a gluten-free pizza base.
Because flour containing wheat is handled during dough preparation and pizza making, our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment.
Milk & Dairy
Most of our standard pizzas use fior di latte mozzarella and/or Parmigiano Reggiano and therefore contain milk.
Where a pizza is made using plant-based cheese, please refer to the allergen information shown for that particular item.
Removing cheese from a pizza does not make us able to guarantee that the finished pizza will be free from milk because dairy products are handled throughout our pizza preparation area.
Vegan Pizzas
Our vegan pizzas are made using plant-based ingredients as described on the menu.
However, vegan pizzas are prepared in the same kitchen and preparation area as pizzas containing meat and dairy products, but we take great care not to cross contaminate however (Pekko's Pizza owner is vegan - just saying!).
The term vegan describes the ingredients used to make the pizza; it should not be interpreted as an allergen-free claim. Please check the individual allergen information before ordering if you have a food allergy or intolerance.
Extra Toppings & Customised Pizzas
Adding, removing or changing toppings can alter the allergen content of your pizza.
If you customise one of our pizzas, please also consider the allergen information for any additional toppings you select.
Removing an ingredient containing an allergen does not necessarily make the finished pizza suitable for someone with an allergy because cross-contact may still occur during preparation.
Dips & Packaged Products
Our dips and some other products may be supplied to us as individually packaged products.
Please check the allergen information shown when ordering and, where applicable, the ingredient and allergen information printed on the product packaging.
Packaged drinks and other branded products should also be checked using the manufacturer's current ingredient and allergen information.
Our Allergen Information
We take our allergen information from our recipes together with ingredient information supplied by our food suppliers and manufacturers.
Ingredients and suppliers can occasionally change. We therefore review our allergen information when products or recipes change.
If you have an allergy and are uncertain about anything shown on our website, please contact Pekko's Pizza before ordering rather than making an assumption about an ingredient.
